Ben Aipa didn’t start out in the world of surf. Raised in a family of pineapple farmers and with dreams of becoming a football star, his life took a drastic turn due to an injury. But as we know, when one door closes, a wave opens up. And Ben rode that wave with style, becoming one of the most respected and innovative shapers on the planet.

Surfing Olympus
One of his most iconic creations is undoubtedly the “”Sting”” model. This board is a true masterpiece of functional art, designed to tackle the varying conditions of both the North Shore and South Shore of Oahu. And it doesn’t stop there: in 2018, Ben was inducted into the Surfing Hall of Fame for his contributions to surf culture. Although Ben retired due to health reasons, his spirit lives on in surfers worldwide and in the continued work of his family.
